KABUL – The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported 186 new positive cases of COVID-19 Friday, after taking some 2,599 samples for the test in last 24 hours, while at least 13 patients have been confirmed dead due to the disease. At least 31 reported recovered.
The new cases were reported in Kabul (130), Nangarhar (18), Kandahar (10), Balkh (2), Kunduz (4), Nimroz (11), Logar (1), Badakhshan (6), and Laghman (4).
While, the deaths were reported in Kabul (8), Balkh (2) and Kunduz (1), according to data provided by the Ministry of Public Health.
The data by the ministry shows that the cumulative number of total cases is now 44,363, the number of total reported deaths is 1,663, and the total number of recoveries is 35,370.
So far, 136,913 samples have been tested in the government centers and there are 7,316 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, data by the ministry shows.
Globally, the number of deaths from COVID-19 reached more than 1,361,300 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 56,928,739, according to Johns Hopkins University.
