5 Dead in Russian Missile Test Explosion

MOSCOW – The Russian nuclear agency said five of its employees were killed when a rocket engine exploded during a test at a military base in the far north of the country, The Telegraph reported Saturday.
Shortly after Thursday’s explosion, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that two people had died and four others were wounded, including military and civilian engineers.
It was not immediately clear whether the five deaths cited in a Saturday statement by Rosatom were in addition to the deaths reported previously.
The explosion occurred in a military rifle range in Nyonoksa, in the northwestern Arkhangelsk region. Nyonoksa is home to a naval facility that serves as a base for testing intercontinental ballistic missiles for nuclear submarines.
