Afghan Cricket Team Seeks to Make History

Afghanistan’s National Cricket Team is looking to make history in Friday’s match against Zimbabwe. The T20I match will kick-off in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
On Sunday, Afghanistan tied with Australia for the record of 12 consecutive T20 international wins, after beating Bangladesh by 25 runs.
Afghanistan has the opportunity to make history with a 13th consecutive win on Friday by beating Zimbabwe.
With stellar performances from Afghanistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and spinner Mujeeb Zadran, the Afghans have bested their own record of 11 consecutive wins in 2017.
Nabi smoked an unbeaten 84 off 54 ball– under pressure–to help Afghanistan post 164-6. This before Mujeeb the 18-year-old spinner claimed career-best figures of 4-15, thus helping his team bowl Bangladesh out for 139 in their second match of the T20I tournament in Dhaka.
Afghanistan started their winning streak in February 2018, when they defeated Zimbabwe twice in two days in Sharjah.
Then they whitewashed Bangladesh 3-0 in India before a 2-0 away series win against Ireland.
Afghanistan beat Ireland three more times before their two wins in the ongoing tri-series.
Bangladesh and Zimbabwe have both lost to Afghanistan, and on Wednesday they face each and neither can afford to lose.
