A Child killed in Paktia Mine Explosion

GARDEZ – A six-year-old child was martyred in a mine explosion in Paktia province on Monday, local officials said in a statement.
According to the statement by Sardar Wali Tabasom, spokesman for Paktia security commandment, a mine that was placed on Dand-e-Patan highway exploded, causing the death of a six-year-old child, who was not named.
According to another report, the security officials discovered a mine in vicinity of 2nd Police Zone in Gardez city.
Explosive mines have been used by militants to target Afghan security forces, mostly around the highways; however, on many occasions they have resulted in the death of civilians.
