FM Rabbani and US Ambassador Discuss Peace Talks

KABUL – Acting Minister of Foreign affairs Salahuddin Rabbani met US ambassador to Kabul John Bass, on Wednesday.
In the meeting, US ambassador expressed hope that the 7th round of talks between US delegation and Taliban negotiators in Qatar would end with good outcome and it would be the starting point for the intra-Afghan dialogue.
He said that the US side in Qatar talks was stressing on agreement on four key issues included in 7th round of the talks and no issue would be lonely agreed.
Acting minister of foreign affairs briefed Bass about his recent visit to Germany and that country’s role in Afghanistan peace process.
Both sides also discussed the upcoming presidential elections and the intra-Afghan dialogue set to be held on 7-8 July by joint initiative of Qatar and Germany in Doha.
