Iran Ready to Sign Military and Security Agreements with Gulf States

TEHRAN – Iranian Defense Minister, Amir Hatami, has said that Iran is ready to sign “military and security” agreements with the Gulf states.
Stressing the importance of Gulf security, Hatami said on Monday that any threat in the region, following the normalization of relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, would trigger a “direct and clear response” from Iran, Xinhua News Agency reported Tuesday.
Iran has repeatedly called for regional cooperation for the security of the Gulf region, noting the foreign military presence as the cause of insecurity in the area.
