Netherlands’ Queen to Visit Pakistan from Nov 25-27

ISLAMABAD – The Netherlands Queen Maxima is scheduled to visit Pakistan from 25-27 November in her capacity as Special Advocate of the United Nations Secretary-General (UNSGSA) for inclusive development finance, the Pakistani Foreign Office (FO) announced on Sunday.
The Pakistani foreign office said in a press release that during her visit, the Dutch Queen would call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan, in addition to her interaction with public and private sector stakeholders.
Queen Maxima will also attend the release of the ‘Micro Payment Gateway’ described by the FO as ‘an initiative by the State Bank of Pakistan aimed at reducing the costs of small payments and boosting digital transactions to benefit people and fostering financial inclusion.’
The statement added that inclusive development finance is one of the government’s “core goals,” and the country has taken a number of steps to promote financial inclusion in recent years.
