Pakistan Urges Mobilization of $ 2.5 Trillion for Developing Countries to Respond to COVID-19

NEW YORK – At the United Nations, Pakistan has insisted on the need to mobilize at least $2.5 trillion for developing countries against the funding needed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at a virtual symposium on partnership solutions, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the Global Body, Munir Akram, said that as President of the UN Economic and Social Council, his priority was to focus on finding the necessary funding to respond to the pandemic.
He also called for close collaboration of all stakeholders in all key sectors to build collective solutions and contribute to the need for COVID-19.
