Saira Peter to Perform at Alhamrah Arts Council on Nov 19

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s first Sufi Opera Star Saira Peter will perform at the Alhamrah Arts Council on November 19 at the musical evening organized by the Sufi Tabbasum Academy.
Saira Peter was composed by Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabbasum to present songs from her Persian album poetry.
Saira Peter sings in different languages, including Urdu, English, Persian, Latin and some of Pakistan’s regional languages, and her main focus was to lend her voice to the mystical poetry written by Muslim Sufi (mystic) poets in the 17th and 18th centuries, including Baba Bullay Shah and Shah Abdul Latif Bhattai, and to spread their message of peace and love.
She said Sufism was an important part of Pakistani culture when she spoke to APP.
Pakistan’s Sufi poets had conveyed the message of love and peace for peaceful coexistence in society to the world through their poetry and taught respect for humanity.
Saira Peter said in her Western-language concerts she was singing Sufi opera to tell them about the rich cultural values of Pakistan and to convey the message that Pakistanis were peace-loving people who believed in love, brotherhood, friendship and humanity.
