Turkey Says 277 “Terrorists” Neutralized in Northern Syria

ANKARA – A total of 277 “terrorists” have so far been neutralized in Operation Peace Spring by Turkey in northern Syria, Anadolu news agency reported on Friday, citing the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the “neutralized terrorists” are members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG).
On October 9th, Ankara announced the launch of Operation Peace Spring in northern Syria, which began with airstrikes on Kurdish positions. The operation aims to create a buffer zone along the Turkish border, where, according to Ankara, Syrian refugees residing in Turkey could return.
The Syrian news agency SANA has called the operation aggression. The international community condemned the acts of Ankara.
According to the Al-Arabiya TV channel, 17 civilians have been killed by Turkish air strikes in northern Syria in the past 24 hours.
