Turki Al-Faisal Receives Ghazi Mir Bacha Khan Medal

RIYADH – Saudi Prince Turki bin Faisal, chairman of the King Faisal Centre for Research and Islamic Studies, received Ghazi Mir Bacha Khan medal, one of the Afghanistan’s Highest honor, for his work and dedication, a media report said on Wednesday.
Afghan Minister of Finance, Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, and Afghan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sayed Jalal Karim, made the presentation to Prince Turki, commending his efforts to support and providing political, social and cultural backing for Afghanistan.
The award ceremony at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Hall included a video of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani congratulating Prince Turki and praising his positive role in strengthening the brotherly bond between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.
“The Ghazi Mir Bacha Khan medal is a symbol of honor and admiration awarded to exceptional personalities to acknowledge their remarkable efforts on behalf of Afghanistan,” Ghani added.
Prince Turki thanked the Afghan leader for the award, and voiced his hopes for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
